In our twelfth installment of TURN THE RADIO OFF, we are joined by Los Angeles based International DJ and one half of Saint Le Roq, KIM ANH. We discuss "crystal gel" and the unintentional "fruitiness" of mid 90's garage/2-step. But more importantly we play some delicious music. You'll hear a preview of The Magician's remix of BENI's "It's A Bubble", a "crazy" cover from the Puppini Sisters, SBTRKT, new Tensnake and an spanking new mix of Mark Ronson from PLASTIC PLATES. We also are blessed with some selections and an exclusive mini mix from DJ KIM ANH. She's one of our favorites and If you're lucky enough you may just catch one of her set's in New York, London, Paris, LA and the likes.

TURN THE RADIO OFF? "Why should I?"- you may ask. Well... you
certainly don't have to. It's a free(ish) country. But if you've grown
tired of the same 12 songs on rotation or your favorite old
skool/oldies stations are no longer cutting it, we've provided an
alternative for you. You still get the mindless, nonsensical banter of
traditional radio (you know... for when you're lonely) but you get a
playlist of hand picked music: Under-appreciated jams from the crates
and freshly curated cuts from the digital world. This week we are
serving up D-Train, Still Going, Lisa Stansfield, Shit Robot, Tiger
and Woods and Junior Boys as well as an exclusive new Telonius/Art of
Tones track (Gomma Records) and some T-Girl realness guilty pleasures.
True Story.

After a slightly long hiatus, Turn The Radio Off returns with it's
usual deep-crate dig-outs and freshly cut selections from the world's
of Disco, House, Hip-Hop, Pop and beyond/between. Episode 10
features music from Jessica 6, Larry Levan, Sade, Cut Chemist, The
Swiss, Soul Clap, etc and upcoming releases/ exclusives from Mike Simonetti (featuring
Sam Sparro) and Erodiscotique (new project from Dimitri From Paris/DJ Rocca). Plus the
usual nonsense from your hosts Sam Sparro and Jesse "Goden Touch" Rogg
and a brand spanking new Guilty Pleasure from someone declared
"mentally ill" by the state of California… and it's not Charlie Sheen.

Turn The Radio Off presents a bloated holiday special.

Joining Sam and Jesse, Hott City DJs F2M/Crza and Diane Keaton go everywhere from SWV to drum & bass to ethno-house and share some of their favorite cuts from this year. As if there weren't already too many djs in the kitchen, Charlie Rose, a recent adoption and new member of the family Sparro, also makes a cameo. Woof woof, indeed.

We're proud to announce the 8th installment of our "Turn The Radio Off" podcast.
This time around we've got golden nuggets by Arcade Fire, The Swiss, a Ronson double hitter, a Tensnake remix of the Scissor Sisters, a brand new remix by yours truly (for Miami Horror) as well as the always iffy Guilty Pleasure. Midset Sam (aka Sloppy Ho) delights us with a vinyl only excursion, get amongst it kids!
Loveliness all around!

This installment of TTRO finds our selectors in the middle of a summer heat surge in L.A. Diane Keaton guests as the three bring some newly acquired vinyl from a recent jaunt to the LBC, in between some new cuts and remixes by the Modus Crew and friends. Unfortunately, Sam forgets 1/2 of his records, and Diane forgets 3/4 of her punchlines. However, Jesse keeps it all in 4/4, so, as always, everything works out in the end.

Feliz Cinco De Mayo Compadres. Our 6th episode brings some classic funk and disco from Platinum, Silver and Gold, Unlimited Touch, and the Jackson Sisters along with some new golden nuggets from Holy Ghost/LCD Soundsytem, Scissor Sisters, Munk and Azari and III. We'll also play some of our own cuts (as per usual) - newbies from Chauffeur the J & J Rewire of Kav's "Shake It Like You Hate It". Plus more more more and our usual SH*T.... and the guilty pleasure is in honour of Cinco de Mayo!

1. "Yes I'm Ready" - Unlimited Touch
2. "Hungry For The Power" - Azari & III
3. "La Musica (Original Extended)" - Munk
4. "Hallelujah" - Happy Mondays
5. "Shake It Like You Hate It (J & J Rewire)" - Kav
6. "I Believe In Miracles" - The Jackson Sisters
7."I Got a Thing (Disco Re-Edit By Dimitri from Paris, Richard Jones, Andrea Moore)" - Silver, Platinum & Gold
8."You Loving Me (Interlude) - Erykah Badu
9."Glamorous Life" - Chauffeur
10."Invisible Light" - Scissor Sisters
12. "Drunk Girls (Holy Ghost! Remix)" - LCD Soundsystem
13."Bye Bye Bayou (Turbotito Remix)" - LCD Soundsystem
14."Turn Me Away (Get Munny)" Erykah Badu
15."Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" - Selena

TTRO is back from a bit of hiatus with it's 5th and -dare we say- finest episode
yet. We've been in the kitchen cooking up some stank and this is your
chance to hear it first. We'll be previewing our new remix for the
funky swedish outfit "O'spada", taste testing some of the remixes on
the MASON/DMC/SAM SPARRO single (finally OUT NOW), our hypnotic
callabo with the one and only Glambert. Plus a tasty mix of tunage
from Phenomenal Handclap Band, Massive Attack, Gorrilaz, GaGa (getting
Hercules and Love Affair'd), classics from Donald Byrd and Donna
Summer and of course our "GUILTY PLEASURE".

Our first podcast of 2010!!
Sam Sparro and Jesse "Golden" Rogg are back in effect with "Turn The Radio Off Episode 4" straight from the Modus Vivendi HQ in (rainy) Los Angeles. We just got back from our Australian DJ tour and we're also almost done with our new album which will be coming out on Island UK this summer... we can't wait to share it with y'all!!
But in the meantime get loose with our favourite sounds of now and back in the day. In this installment of "Turn The Radio Off" we've got Roisin Murphy's banging new single, as well new music by Classixx, Penguin Prison, Modus Vivendi's own Superrookie and some classics from the 70's, 80's and 90's (including a rare Larry Levan vinyl recorded live at Paradise Garage)... also, we gave our brand new remix of Ok Go's new single "White Knuckles" a first spin, let us know what you think! Big special thanks to our good friend and collaborator Julian Brody for helping out on the remix!!
We've got a lot of new music that we couldn't fit into this podcast so tune in next time for more of our favourite sounds and styles!
See ya then!!
